All dog lovers enjoy taking their furry companions with them on their Anglesey adventures. Whether you like to take a sea-breeze brisk walk, or a trek across the mountains; a chance to relax after your outing with your four-legged friend is great.
We’ve jotted down some places below that we think are definitely worth a visit for both you and your canine friends – they may even provide a doggie drink or treat too!
Not all water-holes and restaurants welcome dogs though, some may accommodate for them outside and some not at all. This is where our dog-friendly guide to dining and drinking comes in handy.

Pier House Cafe & Bistro
Pier House Cafe & Bistro is a restaurant located on the seafront of Beaumaris, facing the Menai Straits. This little gem is fantastic for soaking up the beautiful views over a full Welsh breakfast and a freshly ground coffee, not to mention the wide selection of local specialties on offer. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating area.

Bishopsgate House Hotel
Snuggle up by the roaring open fire or enter the restaurant for some much loved home cooked food. If you wish to enjoy the atmosphere with your dog, then you need to stick to the small bar and lounge.

The Bold Arms
This pub is popular with the sports watcher, and what better way to enjoy a spot of sports than with your dog? There are two pool tables and there is a dart board along with a late licence until 1am – fantastic!

The Bulkeley Arms
This traditional pub, which is situated just off the Menai Bridge, welcomes dogs. It’s renowned for its friendly and vibrant atmosphere, alongside live sports which are shown on the multiscreen TVs, a dart board and a pool table can also be found inside.

Tafarn y Bont – The Bridge Inn
A fantastic pub serving real food, real ales, with a real view and a real fire! This breath-taking place is situated by The Menai Suspension Bridge, not only has the décor recently been revamped but the menu has too; it’s well worth a visit after a day walking. All dogs are welcome into the top bar where drinks and food are served.

Anglesey Arms, Menai Bridge
Take the load off your feet after exploring the Anglesey Coastal Path. Then indulge in freshly prepared dishes that have been made using fine, locally sourced ingredients. Alternatively, just pop in for a beverage; they serve a wide range of drinks including cask ales, which are renowned for being the best in the area. The Anglesey Arms is also dog friendly outside but not in the restaurant.

The Victoria Hotel
The Vic is a family run establishment and can be found in the centre of Menai Bridge. They offer excellent accommodation, fine cuisine and a very warm welcome. To top it all they have a dog-friendly beer garden overlooking the picturesque Menai Strait with panoramic views of Snowdonia.

The Owain Glyndwr is a family owned and run traditional bar restaurant situated close to Llanddona Beach. This place enjoys panoramic views over to the Great Orme, the mountains of Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula and the beaches of Red Wharf Bay. The Tavern on the Bay
This gem is an outstanding coastal gastropub, set in an idyllic beach front location, boasting stunning panoramic sea views of Red Wharf Bay and beyond. A family-run café and restaurant in the picture postcard village of Moelfre which is a definite “must” following a dog walk along the coastline. Pull up a pew and enjoy one of their legendary fresh scones in their idyllic walled garden, or take a seat out the front and enjoy the seaside view.

Lligwy Beach Cafe
Newly revamped in 2020 and now including a tepee which hosts music acts on a regular basis, this is the place to visit while enjoying a day at Lligwy beach and rock pools. Not to mention their fantastic burgers, paninis, pizzas and much talked about farmhouse ice cream.

The White Eagle
This pub and restaurant oozes charm throughout, that, alongside its extensive menu make this one for the visit list. Sea Shanty Café
This is a family friendly beach café and restaurant with the added benefit of an ice-cream parlour. There is something for everyone to enjoy on the extensive menu; so why not dust off your sandy feet while visiting Trearddur Bay beach, or, spruce up and call in one evening?
